| LODGE. KAROKE QUEEN - UNTIL CANCER TOOK MY VOICE BOX |
| There was nothing better I liked to do than to belt out my favourite songs.
I was never happier than when I was standing with a microphone in hand, crooning the likes of Simply the Best and When a Man loves A Woman.
I’d always been into karoke, even since my mum Karen had bought me a karoke machine for my tenth birthday. Then it was Friday nights down at the pub with my mates, belting out numbers. |

| HYLAND. I COULDNT LOVE MY DAUGHTER |
| ‘I’M sorry, but she has cancer,’ the doctors words rang around in my head.
I couldn’t take it in. How could my daughter have cancer. She was only two years old, yet we were being told she was fighting for her life.
I’d only given birth to her baby sister just a few weeks before, it was all too much to take in. It was only because of Poppy’s birth, that we had noticed that there was anything wrong with Gracie. |
